APARTMENT + ROOM DETAILS

Ilam Apartments is a self-catered Hall of Residence which is made up of 174 apartments. 

Applications are carefully looked at when making placements within each apartment taking into account age, course and stage of study, personal interests, gender and nationality.

If you are a returning student, you can also choose your apartment and flatmates.

 

Apartment Choices (42 week contracts)

There are currently three types of self-catered apartments which house between 2 - 6 residents. They are very similar in style however the Manuka Apartments were built in the 1970's, the Kowhai Apartments were built in 2000 and the Hinau Apartments were completed in January 2008. 

The Kowhai & Hinau Apartments are a little larger than the Manuka Apartments, but all are equally comfortable. Linen is not provided however linen packs are available for purchase on arrival. 

All apartments at Ilam Apartments are on a 42 week contract (Residential Agreement).

This variety of different types of accommodation caters to the needs of all students from independant first year students through to PhD Post Graduates. Residents who need a longer contract period are welcome to advise the Ilam Apartments office of this. Students wishing to reside at the Ilam Apartments over the summer months and/or return to Ilam Apartments in 2010 are most welcome to do so. Likewise the same welcome is extended to students thinking as far ahead as 2011 and beyond.

For those residents who are on a one semester study course (e.g. Study Abroad students) or those whose classes do not begin until the second semester, we have a special one semester contract for you (on availability).
