CONTINGENCY FEE

The purpose of the Contingency Fee is to give management comfort that all fees will be fully paid and all other obligations of residents properly discharged. The contingency fee may be applied by the Village to meet charges which are incurred throughout the year but not paid by the due date, the cost of any damage caused to the Village by an individual or unattributable damage; and any fines imposed through the year for breaches of the Village rules.

The contingency fee should be refunded at the end of the year if the final inspection following departure is satisfactory and all Village and room furniture and fittings are considered to be of satisfactory condition taking into account general wear and tear. Residents are given the opportunity to inspect their rooms when moving in and to record any defects and request maintenance if required. This process is fully detailed in the Handbook.
