While the main university campus is only a 7 minute walk away. The Bush Inn Shopping centre, just a 10 minute walk away, has two supermarkets and several ethnic restaurants.

STUDYING

Of course, as we all know “it’s all about the study”! Sonoda brings you a private room with a large desk and shelving, and most importantly, access to fast Internet through the University.

Our policies relating to controlling noise mean that we care about you having quiet study time and achieving your aspirations and study goals.

Your Village Director will conduct a private ‘academic performance’ review with you at important points in the year as indicator of any guidance you may need. If you have strengths in a subject, you might be asked to help other residents one to one.

The Computer Suite is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is accessible to all Village residents. The facilities include broadband internet access, which may be accessed using your University of Canterbury ethernet account, PC computers, and a printer. The Lab is run by the University IT department and paying for printing and such is deducted from your Canterbury Card.
