RELAXING

We all know you need some quality time out at the end of the week after the hard grind of daily study.

Sonoda has a large lounge- Keyaki . Hinoki is a seminar room that is available for quiet study, it also doubles as the dining room for the evening meal. Please check with the office to see when it is available. Each apartment has its own small lounge with a brand new fully equipped kitchen. There is a piano available for resident's use in Hinoki. SKY movies and sports channels, newspaper, and a pool table are located in the ground floor lounge in Keyaki. There are sports competitions, games nights and activities and committees to keep you occupied for when you are not hitting the books.

Many events are held in either Keyaki or Hinoki lounges and residents must ensure that it is cleaned up after use.

Our beautiful gardens also provide a haven to get away from it all. Relaxing by the lovely Sonoda pond in the Japanese style garden is a tranquil experience.

 

KEEPING FIT

A healthy body promotes a healthy mind.

Some sports equipment is available at reception. Sometimes there is a deposit required to ensure return of the equipment.

Next door to the campus, there are tennis courts available for your use.

A fair few students spend a bit of time on the ski fields, which are just over 1 hour away.

Many of our residents belong to the Uni Rec Centre which is about 15 minutes walk away and offers a full range of facilities and programmes. Look for the special price for a year’s subscription at enrolment time.
