LOCATION

Sonoda Christchurch Campus is located on Dovedale Avenue but set well back from the road so there is always a feeling of peace and quiet.

The University of Canterbury Education classes are held on the adjacent campus on Dovedale Avenue, while the main university campus is only a 7 minute walk away.

The Bush Inn Shopping centre, just a 10 minute walk away, has two supermarkets and loads of interesting shops as well as several ethnic restaurants. The bigger Westfield Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in New Zealand, is easily reached on the bus (or is a 20 minute walk for the more energetic). The mall has a cinema, food court, supermarket and over 140 shops! 

The University of Canterbury has a number of facilities on site, including the Student Association (UCSA) building that houses the Ngaio Marsh theatre, shops, cafeteria and bar. The UCSA hosts a great number of activities throughout the year and Sonoda residents always enjoy being part of the action!
