SAFETY
The personal security of residents is one of our highest priorities.
So we use a “smart card” to open our main building doors 24/7. We beg residents to lock their bedroom doors because each year items get taken from unlocked rooms.
Christchurch is a safe city by world standards but it is important to take responsibility for your own safety. Use the designated University safe walking routes, walk down main streets; always walk or take transport with a friend, always carry your phone with you and make sure you let people know where you are going if you are leaving the Hall overnight.
We have our own on site security guard around from midnight to 6.00am Thursday – Saturday to assist keeping you safe. For the safety of our residents 24 hour CCTV cameras are operating in and around the Hall.
One of the neat things about our Hall is how residents look out for each other.
Remember you can always contact the staff member on duty by dialing 3642669 or 6669 from the Hall.
