STUDYING

Study support

Despite our rich social life, we do not lose sight of the fact that the Hall exists for successful study.

Tutorials are arranged in popular subjects in our new tutorial room. Other subjects are supported on a needs basis. The Residential staff can help in their areas of study.

Residents are placed into Key Groups with an Resident Assistant assigned to each group.

If you have strengths in a subject, you will be asked to help other residents one to one.

We have dedicated areas for Engineering students with a senior engineering students employed as RA's, plus the University Engineering society, senior Engineering school academic staff, and University Hall have a mentoring system for first year Engineering students.

At strenuous times in the year various rooms are converted to study purposes. Those who need to chill out from tests can grab a hot drink in the residents kitchen in the University Hall Dining Room.

The Hall Resource Centre is equipped with computers for word processing, internet, email and printing. It is connected to the university intranet and is run as a University computer lab. Students have access 24/7.

HOOK UP AT HIGH SPEED

With net access throughout the village, you can study at home.. All rooms have a high speed data port.
